Hello, I’m Jessie Carter, and I’m honored to stand as the Green Party Candidate for South Suffolk in the upcoming general election.
For the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a Suffolk County Councillor, Sudbury Town Councillor, and a Babergh District Councillor, where I’ve also held the role of cabinet member for housing. These roles have allowed me to work tirelessly for the betterment of our communities, tackling issues head-on and striving to make a positive impact where it’s needed most.
My journey into politics wasn’t driven by personal ambition but by a genuine desire to effect change. I firmly believe that politics should be transparent, authentic, and focused on serving the people rather than advancing personal agendas. That’s why I’ve dedicated myself to prioritizing honesty, integrity, and genuine representation above all else.
Representing the Green Party in South Suffolk is not just a duty, but a privilege. This beautiful area that I’ve called home all my life deserves a voice that truly understands its needs and challenges. After 14 years of Tory government, it’s clear that our communities are facing significant obstacles. But I’m committed to tackling these issues head-on and revitalizing our local services to build a more sustainable and prosperous future for South Suffolk.
I joined the Green Party because their values align perfectly with my own. Their dedication to environmental sustainability, social justice, and grassroots democracy resonated deeply with me. As a member, I found a community of like-minded individuals who shared my passion for positive change and were actively working towards a better future for all.
Transitioning to a Green Party councillor allowed me to turn that passion into action on a local level. I’ve had the opportunity to influence policies and decisions that directly impact our communities, advocating for sustainable practices, equitable solutions, and the well-being of both people and the planet.
