Green Fair - Councillors will be accountable amidst the fun
The annual Bury Green Fair will be held at the Corn Exchange on Saturday November 21st, from 10am - 4pm, with three local Green Party councillors available to answer questions from constituents and others.
In June this year, Mark Ereira was elected to represent almost half of the town as a Suffolk County councillor, the voters endorsing his decision to join the Green Party at the beginning of the year. He will be joined at the Green Fair by councillor Andrew Stringer, who represents Upper Gipping at County Hall, as well as being a Mid Suffolk District councillor for over 6 years. Fair organiser councillor John Matthissen will also be pleased to see any of his constituents at the fair.
The usual kaleidoscope of stalls will assemble in the Corn Exchange, possibly for the last time as the new public venue will soon be open. There will be music and dancing, local and fair trade refreshments and lunches, and creative activities for children. A wide range of local crafts making sustainable gifts will be on sale, and the future will be foretold by tarot cards or colour readings. Visitors will be able to sign up for organic vegetable deliveries or join Bury's LETS group to trade services and goods locally.
As always, admission will be by donation, so no-one needs to be excluded from a look around the stalls, picking up ideas about greening their life-style and enjoying the music.
